Blinkist book summaries

GTD (post draft)

Being Anonymous Online (post draft)

How To Sell A Website (post draft)

How To Protect Your Privacy Online (post draft)

Updated the Content Creation post (added rule #1 about “journaling”, rule #3 about “tweeting” and rule #4 about “quotes”).

Content Ideas (post draft)

“How to integrate Pocket and WordPress.” Pocket to wordpress.

I decided to use Google Tasks for my to-do list (it’s integrated in Gmail and it’s handy to use on my phone), but, when on my pc, I would like to be able to read the list on a Google doc or sheet. So I looked for a solution.

I found this article on Medium. But it doesn’t help me much. Yes, I like being able to open Tasks next to a Google sheet, but I’d like my tasks to sync to a sheet, so that I can then sort them and whatnot. I saved that article to go back to, as it gives some useful tips on how to leverage Tasks.

I found this Zapier workflow. But, I’d like something quicker to set up, plus, I think I might not need syncing capabilities, after all. I find benefit in copying and pasting a few tasks each day from Tasks to Google sheets, as that alone will keep me more accountable.

I then found this information: Export your data from Google Tasks and How to download your Google data. I decided to export my huge Tasks list and import it into Sheets. I intend to regularly add all the new tasks by copy-pasting them from Tasks (on my pc) by opening Tasks beside (“side-by-side“) the Google Sheet.

To download your Google data, go to Google Takeout and select which data you want to export. I downloaded my Tasks data. It’s a JSON file by default. So I converted it to csv here. I uploaded the csv file to Sheets and then had to spend some time cleaning it up, as it comes full with meta data that I don’t need.

Blinkist book summaries GTD (post draft) Being Anonymous Online (post draft) How To Sell A Website (post draft) How To Protect Your Privacy Online (post draft) Updated the Content Creation post (added rule #1 about “journaling”, rule #3 about “tweeting” and rule #4 about “quotes”).
